5 September 1945

A nice clear day so we may get the planes over again.

Some American, Dutch and British Officers from two other PoW Camps have arrived on a visit and they say they have had supplies dropped on their Camps every day. They have received so much that they have given up eating Japanese food and have even been able to give supplies away to the Koreans.

The lorry did not go out today to bring back surplus supplies from the other Camps but is going out tomorrow although it is said that only boots and clothing will be available with very little food, if any .

We are still getting as much as we can now eat but the continuous rice, rice, rice, is very nauseating and one craves for European food. They have killed the calf that we had in the Camp for tomorrow.

Passes for either half or a full day to leave the Camp will be allowed to a limited number daily from tomorrow, so I shall probably have a walk out to the local village to see if there is anything worth buying.
