At about midnight last night it sounded as if hell had been let loose in the New Officers Hut, and we were preparing for a good beating up. It finally turned out that these Officers were pulled out to go and unload a lorry load of nails, wire, etc.
The reports of the thefts appear to have had a little effect in that the matter was mildly investigated and some of the goods returned.
Not too good on the farm owing to it being a beastly wet day, got soaked through but managed to get dried out somewhat before getting back to Camp.
Had rare fun and games this evening on returning from the Dining Room - Found all our kits strewn all over the floor, probably one of the nicer pleasantries of the Guard because of the reporting of them yesterday.
What happy times we do have.
