Our first breath of freedom and three of us had a quiet stroll as far as the local mining village and what a glorious feeling to know that one could walk about without fear or restraint or molestation.
It is such a poverty stricken hole that one could not even buy a box of matches. Everything they have for sale or otherwise is kept in a central store and is strictly rationed out.
A Japanese Interpreter from Fukuoka HQ arrived this morning and gave the information that there is quite a large stock of supplies at Moji. Some of our Officers have gone off with two lorries and a car to pick up all they can.
A lorry load of stuff came in this afternoon consisting of clothes, boots, medical stores.
I hear supplies were dropped again today at the Camp that has had a consignment pretty well every day. I only hope it will soon come our turn.
A cow was brought into Camp today for killing.
