Another little piece of savagery while we were waiting to be marched off to work. One of the Dutch lads got a good beating up and was kicked unmercifully whilst on the ground, he had a nasty cut over the left eye, whether by a kick or otherwise I'm not sure. A most heartening sight after last night's savage display.
The sirens went okay and there were plenty of explosions from all directions. After the bombers started coming over, I counted 145 - the most anyone counted was 207, they sure were a picture and a sight for sore eyes. There must have been many more that could not be seen owing to the haze, so it's probable that maybe there was something like 300 passed over; some of our fighters kept diving and firing machine guns over some place not too far away, presumably an Aerodrome.
I understand that heavy raids with hundreds of planes used are being made almost daily all over Japan, that sure sent our spirits up.
