Had cheese mixed in with the stew last night and it was good, also sweetened coffee for breakfast this morning.

Reverting to the release of the parcels, they with rice and flour, were being kept as an emergency reserve, so the release is significant in that there is no further necessity for keeping a reserve as a fresh lot of Red+ parcels are arriving.

Ractliffe came out of Hospital the day before yesterday.

Two Officers (McKnight and McLean) were put in the Ice Box yesterday for pinching beans and have had no food up to date. They had to stand to attention all night with no question of being allowed to lay down. This is the usual punishment for those put in the Ice Box, firstly a beating up, secondly, no food and thirdly stand to attention the whole time. They were let out about 9.30 tonight and given a fairly good feed before being brought to the Hut.
