Still raining hard but I guess we'll have to go to work for another wetting through. Had a miserable afternoon carrying heavy loads in the rain.
One bright spot however was the heartening news that the Interpreter had given out that owing to our people at home being very worried at lack of news as to our welfare Japan, magnanimosly and out of humanity, had given permission for all British Officers to send a 200 word cable, to be in by tomorrow evening .
An interesting rumour regarding OSAKA is to the effect that a large number of lorry drivers have arrived for work in the mine because at OSAKA they have no lorries left for driving, and in addition, there is very little of OSAKA left to drive about in.
